Getting to LILAC 2019

Details on our location and how to get to there.

How to find us:

  • Air: The nearest airport to the venue is East Midlands Airport; there are frequent trains to Beeston and Nottingham City Centre from East Midlands Parkway station 5 miles from the airport with an hourly Railink bus connection. The Skylink bus runs every 20 minutes to Nottingham stopping at the City Centre and near the University.

  • Rail: Nottingham is served by regular trains from London, Birmingham, Manchester and many other UK cities. The University of Nottingham campus is a 50 minute walk from Nottingham Station and a 40 minute walk from Beeston Station. There are regular trams and buses running between these stations and the university (please see below). Journey times and information can be found on the National Rail website and the East Midlands Trains websiteDiscounted fares on East Midlands Trains are available to delegates and can be booked online.

  • Coach: There are coach services to Nottingham from across the UK via National Express. The National Express coach station is next to the rail station (until the end of 2019) on Station Street. Megabus also serves Nottingham from some UK cities.

  • Tram: Nottingham is served by a tram network, Nottingham Express Transit, which has routes through the city centre (and past the train station) to the University. Alighting at “University of Nottingham” will bring you onto campus via the south entrance. Delegates are entitled to discount fares by selecting an Event Ticket from the ticket machine and having the conference logo to hand to show an inspector, if requested. 
  • Bus: Buses in Nottingham are run by Nottingham City Transport. Details of timetables, fares and routes can be found on the Nottingham City Transport website.

  • Road: We advise all conference delegates to use public transport. However, should you need it for directions, the postcode of the University is NG7 2QL. Should you require on campus parking please email by Friday 5th April, 2019.
